Comdata's published small-fleet rates (comdata.com/small-fleets): up to the figure shown off the cash price, for fleets of 20 or fewer trucks at the time of application. The chains approve each fleet's discount, payment must be in full and on time, and rates can change from twelve months after account set-up. Larger fleets negotiate. WEX-brand discounts are negotiated by contract and not published. Love's Express is Love's own card: at least 20 cents a gallon for new qualified customers. Pilot and TA run points programmes (myRewards Plus, UltraONE) rather than discount cards.
Which truck stop has the cheapest diesel? +
No chain publishes a national average price and no public survey compares them, so there is no sourced answer. EIA's US on-highway diesel average was $6.35/gal for the week of October 26, 2026, and its regional prices ran from $5.89 (Lower Atlantic (PADD 1C)) to $7.33 (West Coast (PADD 5)): where you fuel moves the price far more than which chain. Compare the posted prices in each chain's app on your route. What is published is the fleet-card discount, and Comdata's is largest at TA Petro (up to 40c on Total Advantage, 50c on Comdata Max).
Do I need a fleet card to save at truck stops? +
You can save without one by comparing posted prices between nearby locations in the chains' apps. At trucking volumes a fleet card's per-gallon discount usually matters more: as a worked example, 10 cents a gallon on 3,000 gallons a month is $300 a month, or $3,600 a year. Weigh that against the card's fees; Comdata's small-fleet products run from no monthly fee to $129 per account a month.
Are independent truck stops cheaper than major chains? +
Sometimes, but no source publishes a reliable average gap, so check posted prices on your route. If you carry a fleet card, check its network too: Comdata Max lists up to 10 cents a gallon at over 2,500 independent stations and up to 20 cents at 1,900 regional chain stations, against up to 8 cents at Love's.
